Fast and accurate service for family of five takeout order. Friendly staff, long standing locally owned business. Prices seemed a tad high but all in all, not bad. Plus, it saved us a tired trip to Calabash on a busy Saturday night. However, to be honest, none of the food at the beach seems to taste as good as it used to.

Grilled shrimp and fish was absolutely delicious. Our server, Colton, was fantastic. A very enjoyable experience.

All I've gotten here is the "jambalaya" which, by the way, is just spicy pasta. Not even close to jambalaya. Their hush puppy starter is REALLY good, though.

Super nice people, good service and good food. Definitely worth a stop. Really enjoyed the wast coast style seafood. Crab cakes have huge lumps of meat. Sweet! Grilled flounder was ok, would try blackened next time.

Barn is good description of this place. Opened in the 1970d and haven't changed since. Locals don't eat there. Food left a lot to be desired..

Great place to eat. A have to go place when we are at the beach.

The crab cakes are some of the best I've ever had. They're not even "cakes." There's so little filler they're basically just a pile of lump crab shaped into a pattie. Delicious! Lots of other tasty food on the menu as well! Sadly, they've closed for the season so we'll have to wait until about April before we can get back.

Worst experience ever. If I could give them no stars I would ! They are rude and have some nasty attitudes. Will never go back. Don't waste your money.

Would have give no stars but you can’t do that. Our bill was a $100.00 for four people and the best thing was the free hush puppies they bring you before the meal. My suggestion would be to fill up on those. The seafood was most likely frozen and that’s sad right beside the ocean. It was floppy and soggy and just plain disgusting. The chicken Alfredo was also a hot nasty mess. The corn on the cob had a hair on it almost looked like a pubic hair. Just a overall very bad experience not what you would expect for the price at all. Take heed and just don’t waste your money here the seafood and pasta would have been much better from Red Lobster.

Sorry Red Barn. I have to give a low rating. I expected much better. One Does expect sea food to be good quality that close to the ocean. My husband and I both ordered the Barn Special. Shrimp, flounder, devil crab. I could barley eat it. $37.00 plus tip is too much for sorry food. Also, Your web page read you opened at 4:30. When we arrived we had to wait until 5:00. Your outside signage did state 5:00. But we located you by your web advertising. Very very disappointed!Will not be back!

We absolutely love this restaurant! We take all of our visitors here. We have never been disappointed. Grandchildren really like going there too. Really neat decor. The food is good southern style seafood.

Service was EXTREMELY slow. Waited an hour on food the NEVER came as other tables seated after us had gotten their food before us. We had to ask for our salads 3 times and also remind of the appetizer ordered. When questioning where our entrees were the waitresses excuse for us not having our crab legs ready after putting the order in 30 minutes prior was that they take longer to cook. It takes 7-10 minutes to steam crab legs. Needless to say we ended up canceling our orders and paying for the salad/drinks and leaving.

Seafood barn is an ok place. This is a good place for those with a very basic palate. We ordered the fried shrimp and a shrimp po boy and the crab dip. The sides are pretty dull and nasty tasting, almost paid $15 for the crab dip but it tasted like a block of cream cheese. 10/10 sweet tea, 2/10 appetizers and 5/10 entrees

The food was mediocre at best. Despite the fact that we were only 1 of 4 tables in the whole restaurant, the service was poor. We are locals and will never return.

Nothing special about the food for the expensive price. It doesn't run specials or have fresh food daily and you can tell. Most everything is frozen and cooked to order. The hush-puppys were the best tasting dish because you can tell they are handmade and fresh. The wait staff were great and attentive. The décor is very rustic and historical with old tools and things that was used many years ago to harvest and plant crops.

Haven’t been there in many years. So we decided to treat our family. Called in the order, pretty big order. Got there, wasn’t quite ready. So we waited, not too long I suppose. Got our food $114 worth, got back to the rental house and guess what! Left something off. Something told me to check the order. I called and the lady said if you want to come back. ( did I have a choice)So we go back to pick up a shrimp burger. Didn’t charge us for it thank goodness. After we get back to our cold food at our rental house, it sure is wasn’t how we remembered it to be. Sad thing tho because that fish used to be great. My husband and I shared a three item plate, only had one piece of fish, limited shrimp and oysters. Maybe 4 hush puppies. Sorry we won’t be back.

Lost a lot of customers today for wrong hours on internet. I stayed and waited 45 mins when it should have been 15. Eaten here before and enjoyed the food but we like to eat 4/430 before all the crowds. Just think they need to update there information.

I got the crabs and they were lovely, I'd highly recommend if you're ok with spending a decent amount of money. My girlfriend got the 'spicy' shrimp and when she received it, the seasoning was all over the shell so when she took off the shells all the seasoning was off. After that it was really bland, but it's fine if you plant on using cocktail sauce with it (which she sadly isn't a fan of). My brother got the Hawaii Caribbean Fish and that was tasty as well. Neat little place with a Giant Rooster so bonus points for that. Overall pretty average for how expensive it was, bill was crazy high for slightly above seafood.

Been to Seafood Barn several times and everything is always great. My wife highly recommends the Redneck Eggrolls and crabcakes.

Hate to do this but DO NOT eat here. I read some other reviews and was really pulling for this place at first. To be so close to the beach this is a pathetic excuse for a "seafood" restaurant. I had fried shrimp... Holden beach is known for there fresh shrimp.... But somehow this restaurant managed to be the only place that buys flash frozen pre cooked pre fried shrimp and they just heat it up in the oven. My wife had the barn special. Only thing special about it was the price. 16.99 for a flavorless pre cooked mockery of seafood. If I could I would give this place no stars. We didn't even finish the food on our plates. With that said the wait staff is lovely and the place is kind of cool so if you insist on coming here maybe only pop in for the amazing hush puppies and honey butter.

Food was awful, floating in grease, service was not good. We were very disappointed, this was our favorite place. Will not return. Cashier said everybody is having trouble opening back up. Removed my charge, but still charged for the second plate, a total waste of 24.00

If you are ever in Holden Beach North Carolina you got to try the seafood Barn. It is by far the best seafood I've ever eaten. Their scallops we're so tender they melt in your mouth and the hush puppies are to die for they're more addicting than popcorn. They also have excellent service.

Awesome interior design and atmosphere! Very reasonable prices and serving sizes. The people here are nice as well.

The ambiance is definitely great no doubt. I ordered the ribeye, rare. The steak beautiful looking but was cooked med, seasoned with what tasted Worcestershire sauce and sadly, cold on the outside. With that said, there was more seasoning on the steak then the collards. Pickle chips were good.

The workers have the worst attitudes ever and they mess up everyone’s orders! I would give them a zero rating if I could

The service was great. Portions were generous. It looked absolutely wonderful. However, everything was presalted. Not just the seafood, even the sides were salty. We ate very little of the food for two people, $50.

Got seated today, the host said she would find or waiter. 15 minutes later no drink orders no waiter. Looked around, no one would make eye contact. So we walked out, no one even noticed us walking out.

Read some not so favorable reviews and hesitated on going in...Would have been a Huge mistake... Very friendly, Great service, Very affordable,and Most importantly, Wonderful Food. Steam Pot, Shrimp Alfredo, and Shrimp Trio were all excellent.

Extensive wait time on our food, rubbery fried fish, dropped my original food, offered another meal due to extensive wait time on my original meal. Only offered 10% off. Drink refills were warm no ice.

Fun place to go with family. Food is good, but not enough to set it apart from other seafood restaurants in area.
